A run-through of all the opportunies available to our members!
A run-through of all the opportunies available to our members!
Summer has been jam-packed already with trainings and learning! Tons of free Tulsa Model recertifications online, four free Tulsa Model new evaluator trainings scheduled, three days of classroom management bootcamp, two days of learning with Alex Kajitani and Matt Miller, one online book study and a partridge in a pear tree! Who doesn’t want a little Christmas in July? As you can see, summer is a busy time--time we all spend perfecting our craft to ultimately impact student achievement.
The Teaching & Learning team was lucky enough to spend a few days learning even more about the NWEA Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment that many of our member schools use. We have learned so much about using results to close gaps in student learning, creating an “NWEA” culture at your school site and exploring fixed vs. growth mindsets. If you’re a member school and would like to schedule an NWEA MAP training on-site, please visit opsrc.net/pd/catalog. We can’t wait to share what we have learned with you!
Administrators: we know you are thinking about training requirements for yourselves as you prepare for the next school year as well. State-required, Tulsa Model new administrator evaluator training and the Tulsa Model recertification training are free to all of our member schools. These sessions will review the Tulsa Model and background, the rubric, the observation and evaluation process and calibrating using rubric indicators. For recertification training, you can now access all your training materials and assessment online through our members-only portal. You do not need to attend an in-person training for recertification.
And if you’ve joined our Ron Clark’s Essential 55 Virtual Book Club, then welcome! How cool that we get the opportunity to learn with each other alongside the pool while getting a tan? If you haven’t joined, it’s certainly not too late; just click the link above. This book will transform some of your classroom management practices, and you will learn from the best--your peers!
OPSRC has so many options throughout the year to fit your professional learning focus. Always check out our current offerings as we update them regularly. Our members-only online professional learning platform offers a variety of webinars and trainings as well!
We can’t wait to continue to teach and learn alongside you this summer!
Last Tuesday was quite a day in case you haven’t heard. The governor’s office issued an executive order to require discussion of "administrative services" consolidation in all schools that spend less than 60% of their revenue in the classroom.
It’s finally fall, y’all! I know you’ve been busy with teacher evaluations, data analysis, sports events--the list goes on. It can absolutely be overwhelming, but we are always here to help. Many of you use the NWEA MAP assessment to measure student growth, which provides powerful data to help you set your instructional priorities and create student interventions.
It's official: Adobe Flash will be no more on Chromebooks by 2020's end.
Welcome back! We hope you had a restful, relaxing summer and are ready to get back to all of the students anxiously awaiting your return!
