Ongoing: The Sony Corporation focuses the majority of its charitable giving on arts, culture, technology and the environment, with a particular emphasis on education in each of those areas.  While support in other areas may also be considered, the company seeks to apply its financial, technological and human resources to the encouragement of the creative, artistic, technical and scientific skills required of tomorrow's workforce. If your school has a program for which you would like to ask for financial assistance, click here for details on requirements.

Various: The Oklahoma City Community Foundation has a host of scholarship opportunities for high school students. Visit their Opportunities page to find ones that might be applicable to your students!

Various: Newspapers in Education has created a variety of student-focused contests. Students who enter into any of the contests will automatically be entered to receive a  $250.00 Visa gift card.

Various: The Oklahoma State Dept. of Education has compiled a list of writing contests--state, national and international.

Ongoing: Check out the Oklahoma Education Needs/Donations Facebook group where teachers post their classroom needs, and a donor will ship the teacher's request straight to his or her school. Over the past two years, at least 500 teachers from all over Oklahoma have received donations, and there are now almost 30,000 group members!

March 1: Application deadline for Oklahoma Farm to School's "Let's Get Growing a School Garden" project, which promotes healthier eating through experiential learning by providing the supplies & tools needed to build & maintain a learning garden.

March 2: Application deadline for the Penguin Random House Writing Awards. This program will award college scholarships of up to $10,000 each to five U.S. high school seniors nationwide.

March 7: Nomination deadline for TLI's 20 Under 2 awards, which recognize 20 novice teachers across Oklahoma who are setting the educational pace and leading Oklahoma students to success.

March 12: Application deadline for the Verizon Innovative Learning Schools Connect program, which will provide schools with hotspots and teacher PD. This is a 2-year program with an option to extend to four years.

March 14: Nomination deadline for the Oklahoma School Counselor of the Year. School counselors work tirelessly to meet the academic, social and emotional, and college and career development needs of all students. If you know a school counselor who goes above and beyond, nominate them.

March 15: Submission deadline for the NPR Student Podcast Challenge for students in grades 5-12. Students can compete for a chance to win NPR's grand prize and have their work appear on NPR. The winning podcast submissions will be featured in segments on Morning Edition or All Things Considered.

March 19: Application deadline for the Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program. This is a FREE, 2-week program for current 9th–11th grade students to learn about computer science, gain exposure to tech jobs and join a supportive sisterhood of thousands of students around the world.

March 19: Application deadline for the Amazon Future Engineer Teacher of the Year Awards, which recognizes top computer science/robotics teachers who serve underrepresented and underserved communities. Cash prizes for the winners!

April 1: Application deadline for the OKC Zoo's Living Classroom Grant Program, which helps schools create a monarch butterfly garden. Open to all schools in the OKC metro area.

April 30: Submission deadline for the "Celebrate the West" art competition. Oklahoma students in grades 9-12 can earn cash prizes and have their artwork displayed as part of an online competition in conjunction with the WGA's annual meeting. First prize is $1,500, and each state winner will receive $200.
