New Initiatives in Classroom Technology

This is the time of year to start planning for next school year's technology purchases. What are your plans?

OPSRC's technology team would like to know about your plans and provide any guidance or assistance you might need. To facilitate this, we have created a survey to learn more about what our members are currently doing with technology and what you're planning for next year.

Some things to consider:

  • Are you purchasing student devices? You have options. Should you buy Google Chromebooks, Apple iPads or Microsoft Surface Go tablets? All three companies  provide cost effective solutions for student and teacher needs. What are the benefits and negatives of each? If you want some advice, contact us.
  • Are you purchasing new textbooks this year? Are you considering physical textbooks, or do you prefer newer, cheaper digital options? Are you considering the many free Open Educational Resources (OER) being created by educators across the state and country? Learn more about these resources by contacting us.
  • Do you already have student devices and want to know more about effectively integrating them with your instruction? Do you want to learn more about the ISTE educator and student standards for technology integration? Would you like to know more about the SAMR model of effective technology integration? We can help.
  • Are you familiar with eSports? Many districts across the state are setting up eSports teams to engage students who otherwise might not be engaged in school. We can provide information about how your district and students can compete.

These are just a few ways that technology can be used effectively for education. If you would like to learn more about these topics, please contact us at 405-563-8602 or by email

And don’t forget to help us learn more about your technology plans by completing the survey linked above!
