Spring is back: the new blooms are coming out, the weather is changing, and I can’t help but think of this quote. On that note, the Teaching and Learning team is taking advantage of this transition period to develop a plan where our partnerships will be solidified, our PD will be revamped and our members will be able to offer and receive immediate feedback to better support you.
We are very excited about the possibilities of collectively developing and planning new professional development sessions with our members' suggestions in mind!
If you are planning your PD development calendar for the 2017-2018, call us and get them on our calendar as soon as possible. If you prefer, we can help you and your surrounding districts plan a collaborative professional development day. Call us as soon as you can, as dates are filling up quickly!
As part of our commitment to improve, our regional developers will be offering multiple dates this summer for our regional trainings. They will present information focused on different grade levels and subjects to better meet the PD needs of your entire faculty. Registration will open soon on our website!
Our regional developers, Jean and I look forward to hearing from you with your district's needs.
This is an extension of a post I included in a recent members-only Friday News Brief. However, I feel the topic is worth repeating, as the methods you choose for communicating with your staff, board and the public at large are critical to ensuring all interested parties stay informed of important school and district information.
A U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas has granted a request for a preliminary injunction barring the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) from enforcing the new overtime rule that takes effect on December 1, which would increase the salary threshold for exempt employees from $23,660 to $47,892.
You may not know about some of the solutions Google has to offer schools!
