Ongoing: The Sony Corporation focuses the majority of its charitable giving on arts, culture, technology and the environment, with a particular emphasis on education in each of those areas.  While support in other areas may also be considered, the company seeks to apply its financial, technological and human resources to the encouragement of the creative, artistic, technical and scientific skills required of tomorrow's workforce. Ongoing: SparkFun welcomes makers of all ages & skill levels to apply to become a SparkFun Community Partner. Starting January 2017, SparkFun will award selected applicants on a monthly basis with a sponsorship package that meets the need of their club or organization. In exchange for support through the donation of hardware, expertise, or money, SparkFun’s community partners provide content for SparkFun’s channels to share their stories with the maker community at large.

Various: The Oklahoma City Community Foundation has a host of scholarship opportunities for high school students. Visit their Opportunities page to find ones that might be applicable to your students!

Various: Newspapers in Education has created a variety of student-focused contests. Students who enter into any of the contests will automatically be entered to receive a  $250.00 Visa gift card.

Various: The Oklahoma State Dept. of Education has compiled a list of writing contests--state, national and international.

Ongoing: Check out the Oklahoma Education Needs/Donations Facebook group where teachers post their classroom needs, and a donor will ship the teacher's request straight to his or her school. Over the past two years, at least 500 teachers from all over Oklahoma have received donations, and there are now almost 30,000 group members!

May 6-10: OPSRC's annual Teacher Appreciation Week contests. Like our Facebook page, and follow us all week for a chance to win some stellar prizes!

May 15: Submission deadline for the 2020-2021 Oklahoma Teacher of the Year program.

May 16: Submission deadline for Dollar General Literacy Foundation's youth literacy grants.

June 1: Submission deadline for the Oklahoma Indian Gaming Association scholarship for students with a parent who is an Oklahoma casino industry employee.

June 2-6: Dates for the East Central University's (Ada) Oklahoma Business Week, a one-of-a-kind summer program that offers students in high school first hand experience in the world of business.

June 7-8: Date scheduled for the Oklahoma Science Teachers Association's annual conference. This year's theme is Teach Outside the Box: Building Community Partnerships.

June 10-14 & June 24-28: Dates set for the OSU Sustainable Bioenergy workshops. Attend one of these events to learn about making biofuels from invasive plants, visit the Nobel Research Institute and leave with more than $1,000 in supplies for classroom experiments!

June 21: Deadline submission for Crayola's Creative Leadership grants, which provide funding for innovative, creative leadership team building within elementary/middle schools. Submit your application for the opportunity to receive a grant to help build your school's creative capacity. Each grant-winning school (up to 20 grants awarded) receives $2,500 and Crayola products valued at $1,000 (Note: principal must be a member of NAESP).
