Upcoming PD to Keep You Learning!

We’re back in business, everybody! It was such a pleasure spending the summer with so many of you. We had a great time hosting you at OPSRC and an even better time spending the day with you at your school sites learning about the great work you do on a daily basis.

We’re back in business, everybody! It was such a pleasure spending the summer with so many of you. We had a great time hosting you at OPSRC and an even better time spending the day with you at your school sites learning about the great work you do on a daily basis. Plain and simple: you inspire us. And your feedback after each training helps us grow and expand our offerings. We sincerely thank you for letting us learn alongside you.

We haven’t slowed down one bit since the new year has begun. Many of you opted for our PD tracks, where a series of sessions is combined to give you a richer, more well-rounded learning experience. This, you know, is the most effective type of professional development. When we revisit a concept more than once and make it a focus for the year, we truly begin to grow in our practice and affect student outcomes. I encourage each of you to look at the tracks we have available.

Benchmark assessments and NWEA MAP assessments are also well underway, and we want to support you with that data! We have a series of data-driven instruction PD sessions along with some intensive sessions with NWEA representative, Rick Croom, to help you dive into your school level results and begin to use data to support students’ learning. Register for these today. NOTE: each school may send up to 5 representatives to our NWEA trainings. Our registration caps at 40 people for these, so please register soon to save your spot!

And last, but definitely not least, Oklahoma Teacher Leadership & Learning (OTLL) cohort applications are out! OTLL provides opportunities for experienced or master teachers to lead PD projects that enhance their professionalism and skills, extend their learning and share their expertise with others. The annual program is designed with the recognition that ongoing teacher learning is vital in supporting the goals of the Teaching and Learning vision: Learn Now, Expand Today, Use Tomorrow. Apply or nominate a teacher. Applications are due Friday, September 14th.

Here’s to a wonderful school year!
