Tuesday Solutions: Summer PD & Ed Blogs to Check Out

It’s official: summer is here! Hopefully, you are looking forward to some well-deserved downtime with your family and with colleagues. Not being a warm weather fan, I am already looking forward to the fall with its college football and Indian tacos at the Oklahoma State Fair.

A simple reminder to superintendents and district leadership teams: if you are looking to improve students’ reading abilities and reading scores by incorporating easy changes for major turn around, be sure to register for the June 5 Focus on District’s Systems Professional Development Day with Dr. Tihen.  This recently-retired superintendent for Lee County School District in Florida is also the primary author of the Florida reading model. This opportunity to hear a leading expert is being held in collaboration with the Oklahoma State Department of Education. Registration for this event is now open.

Finally, I thought it might be interesting to do a blog about another blog that discusses the top 10 blogs! Be sure to check out this article, which highlights the Top 10 Educator Administrators’ Blogs.

Enjoy your last week of May, and stay dry!
