Having Those Tough Conversations

How will you have some of those tough conversations? How will they sound?

Now that your students are in their classrooms, your teachers are integrating technology into their lessons and parent nights/open houses are basically a memory, how will you have some of those tough conversations? You know, those conversations with faculty and/or staff who are not quite performing to expectations but have the potential with just a little coaching. How do those conversations sound?

For the third year in a row, we are excited to again offer an in-depth session with Dr. Lloyd Sain on the topic of Conducting Four Types of Conversations Using Coaching Skills. Four conversational levels of calibrating, consulting, collaborating and coaching can all be used with intention to get the best results. This training will be held in our Oklahoma City office on September 20 from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm and will include role playing using the four types of conversations, useful tips to help make your relationships more professional and a free lunch. On another note, thank you to all of the many districts/schools whose teachers and administrators we have had the opportunity and pleasure to visit and train. The Teaching & Learning team has so enjoyed getting to know your staff and hear and share the good practices many educators do on a daily basis.

Looking ahead, our next regional development training days will be October 11 & 12 with the topic of Questioning for Learning. To view times and venues along with registration information, click here.

Additionally, the Teaching & Learning team will be visiting more member schools this fall with customized professional development training meant to meet the individual needs of those schools’ cultures. If you or your school/district is interested in scheduling such a day, call us at 405-314-2063.
