I hope you've had a wonderful holiday season and your batteries are recharged. I know I have enjoyed some family time, but now I'm looking forward to finishing up this school year strong. I am also excited to be out of 2020!!
Earlier in fall, we announced that National Geographic had awarded a grant to our team to develop teacher PD around social studies. We put out an all-call for teachers who would be interested in partnering with us to develop this content for other teachers across the state. Well, we've selected those teachers and are excited to announce who they are:
Jaysa Jenkins
Dalton Savage
Scott Greene
Jacqueline Love
Todd Gragg
Eric Harp
Clayton Canon
We are so pleased to work with them to increase the collaboration of social studies teachers in Oklahoma. Each of these great educators will be creating lessons that will be made available to other educators statewide. They will be lessons that combine both the Oklahoma Academic Standards in geography and resources from the National Geographic Library. We will develop lessons for all grade levels so elementary, middle and high school teachers can benefit.
We hope that the addition of lessons in social studies is a first step to housing lessons for teachers in all subjects. We want to help teachers collaborate and share ideas as well as lessons. If you want to help us add to our online library, please reach out.
