Another valuable service to member districts: school bond support.
At OPSRC, our mission is to support public schools across the state, and we’ve developed a creative solution to help our members with their school bond requests. As we all know, schools face critical budget shortages this year, and these shortages make it even more critical that schools find different ways to fund activities and expenses. One solution that many school districts rely on is passing a bond to fund much-needed capital expenses. The challenge with a bond is ensuring that community members understand why the school bond is necessary, they know what the funds generated by the bond will be used for and they understand the logistics of when and where to vote.
With this in mind, we offer a free bond website service to our members, and we’re proud to announce that with this past Tuesday’s vote complete, we’ve helped four of our member districts pass successful bonds. Please take a look at the four sites we’ve developed over the past year, and let us know if a similar site could be useful as your school district considers future bond proposals.

A U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas has granted a request for a preliminary injunction barring the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) from enforcing the new overtime rule that takes effect on December 1, which would increase the salary threshold for exempt employees from $23,660 to $47,892.
