Say What? Free Summer Learning Opportunities & Resources!

Congratulations: you’ve all officially reached “school's out status!” No doubt you have worked hard all year engaging students and collaborating with colleagues, but now it’s time to rest and relax. We know summers are when the real work preparing for next year begins. This is the time to reflect, plan forward and grow professionally. We also know you often spend your time seeking out professional development that is best for your school site. And since we know for Oklahoma’s educators, time for rest and relaxation is short and comes in tiny doses, we’ve compiled a list of free options for you to engage in below this summer!

Local & National Organizations:

1. Visit opsrc.net/events for the most up-to-date list of all of your “free for members” trainings! We’ve got a classroom management bootcamp and some TLE certification and recertification trainings listed for the summer. These fill up quickly, so join us if you can. If you are an instructional coach or administrator, the classroom management bootcamp is great for additional coaching tools and strategies!

2. OSDE’s Engage Conference is free to Oklahoma educators, and their staff travels across the state so you don’t have to! Register online now. If you’d like to check out what’s being offered, head to the Session Agenda to view what’s in store.

3. A local Eventbrite search shows so many free options for conferences around Oklahoma. Make sure you have filtered your event search to “Family & Education.” When you search, you will see offerings for free trainings from OSDE as well as literacy development and trauma-informed instruction.

4. On July 25, 2019, you can participate in an online, FREE TED Talk-style conference about arts education with ARTS ED NOW, and you won't want to miss it because this year’s keynote speaker is Ron Clark!
