Our Plans to Support Your Return to School

There’s one big question on everyone’s mind: what is the fall going to be like? Nobody really knows for sure, but despite all the uncertainty, two things remain true: online teaching and learning aren’t going anywhere, and we have just enough time to help teachers be ready for whatever next school year brings.

The Teaching & Learning team is working hard to find opportunities for educators to prepare amid the uncertainty. The first opportunity will be our online PD. We are continually adding to it, so check back regularly. We added NWEA trainings for those districts that use that benchmarking tool. Those courses are really helpful and integrate well with Exact Path, which the state is providing to schools free next year. We have also added an Intro to Google Classroom for those who need a refresher or for those beginners looking for where to start.

Another opportunity that we have is for you to join us at 3 p.m. on July 9th, to learn about a new, competency-based solution from BloomBoard that equips teachers with the skills for effective online instruction--just in time for fall! In this brief webinar, we’ll discuss:

  • An innovative framework for planning online/blended learning in response to students' unique needs.
  • The six foundational skills critical for online instruction.
  • A realistic action plan and timeline leaders can begin now so their teachers are ready for whatever the fall throws at them.

Register today, and don't worry--even if you're not able to attend the live webinar, we'll make the recording available to you after.

As always if you have requests for PD, please reach out to us. We want to help in any way possible. With the OSDE's announcement about paying for Exact Path for districts statewide, our staff will be working hard and learning so we can provide assistance on that platform. We know districts will want to use this program to save money and provide a great diagnostic tool that teachers can progress monitor on during the school year in a blended-learning format.
