October is National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month

Teachers: do you incorporate lessons in your classrooms that educate your students on the issue of bullying?Administrators: are you sharing bullying resources with your parents and community?

Teachers: do you incorporate lessons in your classrooms that educate your students on the issue of bullying?Administrators: are you sharing bullying resources with your parents and community? Bullying has become a rampant problem in our society, due in large part to social media as an added outlet for students. Therefore, it is important we properly educate our students on bullying awareness, but it's equally important that we provide that information to our parents and our greater community. We truly need all hands on deck, as they say, to reinforce what we are teaching and for everyone to be aware of potential bullying situations outside school. 

Further, even though October is a time to highlight the issue of bullying, we must educate our students year-round on identifying bullying in action, reporting it to adults and working to further prevent it, including educating kids on the harmful, lasting effects bullying can have on individuals.
