Meet the Newest Member of the Technology Team

OPSRC's technology staff is expanding! Kashuan Hopkins has joined our team as an instructional technology specialist. Today is his first day, and we want to introduce you to this gentleman who has already proven to be invaluable to our efforts.

Kashuan graduated from the University of Oklahoma in spring 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics education. He taught middle school and high school math for four years before going back to OU for his masters. He earned his M.Ed. in instructional design and technology in summer 2020, focusing on curriculum development and instructional design.

While pursuing his master’s degree, Kashuan worked at the University of Oklahoma's IT Learning Spaces Program as an instructional technology trainer. He assisted faculty in incorporating instructional technology, created and facilitated group and online training and produced instructional resources for remote learning.

“I believe empowering people through education allows them to generate solutions today for tomorrow's problems. There is always a better way to do something, so it is worth recognizing one's limitations and collaborating with others to produce the best results. My goal is to leverage technology to help create environments and resources that enable learners to innovate, collaborate, and creatively problem-solve.”

Kashuan enjoys using technology to help promote twenty-first century skills and research-based practices. He served as an intern at OPSRC this last spring. While in that role, he created two NextThought training courses: "Intro to Seesaw" and "Intro to Google Classroom." These courses are available now in the NextThought online learning platform.

The OPSRC technology team is ready to help districts with your technology needs. From networking equipment, websites, classroom technology, classroom software to professional development, we are here to help. You can reach Kurt and Kashuan at techteam@opsrc.net
