It’s August, and I hope everyone is as excited for the new school year as I am. As we prepare, I wanted to let you know that we did something here at the OPSRC that everyone struggles with: we made a change.

The U.S. has already seen multiple school shootings this year. We're not talking over the course of the 2017-2018 school year. We're talking 2018. And it's only mid-February. The fact that as the year continues, this number will likely grow should concern every one of us.

Two questions: Did you realize that customer service within your schools is everyone's responsibility, not just those sitting in the front office? And did you know that DonorsChoose.org is not the only site you can use to raise money for your classrooms?

This first week of May marks Teacher Appreciation Week, and I hope you will take time to communicate your gratitude for the teachers who have helped shape your life and who are shaping your children's lives.
