Is Your Facebook Content Being Seen?

Recently, Facebook announced that they are--yet again--changing their algorithms, which affects the content you see every day in your feed. Users will begin to see more content from friends and family and less from businesses and groups. And yep, that includes school/district pages!

So what does this mean?

It's time to review your content and make sure what you are sharing is engaging and includes pictures and videos.
Make sure you consistently post on your page. Once a month won't cut it, and with these changes, you'll disappear from feeds altogether, and people will forget about your page or will choose to unfollow you altogether.
Check out your Facebook page's insights to gauge what kind of posts are getting the most attention (likes, shares, comments). If your posts are nothing but texts and get little to no engagement, it's time to ramp things up a notch. Include photos, videos and even try out Facebook Live. The key is to get people talking about, commenting on and sharing your Facebook content.
If you're still getting little to no engagement even on posts with pictures and videos, it might be time to reconsider whether Facebook is a viable outlet for your stakeholders. If you think this might be the case, create a simple Google Forms survey for your community/family members to see what avenues they would like you to use to communicate information. There's no point in using a tool that doesn't reach your people!
