If your school or district has a Facebook page, chances are you've encountered the dreaded negative comment. Unfortunately, allowing people to voice their displeasure with an issue is just part of the social media game. The benefits of using social media, though, far outweigh the negative.
What you need to know, including if this new provision apply to schools.
The U.S. District Court, Northern District of Oklahoma, has dismissed the federal claims against Caney Valley Schools and denied the motion for a permanent injunction with respect to the school district’s refusal to allow a senior student to wear an eagle feather in her graduation cap Griffith v. Caney Valley Pub. Schs., 15-CV-273-GKF-FHM (N.D. Okla. 01/05/16).
I don’t know if you ever had to figure out how to explain to your parents about exactly why you had a “C” in a subject, but I did. It was not pleasant, and my explanation did little to assuage their fear that their eldest child was about to get less than an “A."
