Looking for a way to utilize your new iPad more effectively? Check out these free apps:
iBooks – access multimedia textbooks (and thousands of other books). Textbooks are owned by the purchaser and stored in their account – including free updates. Some textbooks are free, others available for purchase. If you have access to a Mac, use iBooks Author, another free app from Apple, to create your own multimedia textbook.
iTunes U – entire courses with syllabus, assignments, video, documents, apps, and books. Browse the available courses or create your own, all on the iPad.
Adobe Voice – free storytelling app for iPad. Use available images and icons or load your own, narrate your story, and share. It’s just that simple.

We have all had those students who ranked somewhere on the autism spectrum, but did we do all we could to help them reach their potential? I have to admit I was ill-equipped and probably still am, but after reading an article in this week’s Parade magazine, Movie Magic by Nicola Bridges, my heart was warmed with promise.
