The Reading Specialist is a single position to assist with Reading Sufficiency, RTI, student interventions, staff coaching and data tracking. The Reading Coach will tutor highest need students based upon student data. In addition, the Reading Coach will help with assessments as needed as well as prescribing interventions. The Reading Coach will also support reading instruction by coaching classroom teachers during our two-hour reading block each day. This would mean working alongside a classroom teacher and sharing expertise & best practices. We use the Balanced Literacy Approach with the high yield practice of Guided Reading (Fountas & Pinnell) and Science of Reading in all grades Pre-k through fifth.
A Certified Reading Specialist Certificate with the State Department of Education is preferred for this position.
Our pay salary is above the OKC teacher salary with compensation being based upon experience.
